The Benefits Of A Mommy Makeover

Are you looking for a way to get your pre-pregnancy body back? Have diet and exercise failed to produce the result you are looking for? Well, don’t despair. Thousands of moms have decided to take steps beyond what can be accomplished at the gym through a customized surgical procedure nicknamed a “Mommy Makeover.” A Mommy Makeover is usually a combination of breast lift with or without augmentation, a tummy tuck and liposuction. These procedures can be done simultaneously for most women, drastically cutting down on the recovery time needed and removing the risk of having several surgeries. If you are a busy mom, you will be able to recover a much shorter time, thus requiring less downtime and disruption to your daily activities.

Get back into that bikini

The result of this procedure is not getting back your teenaged body but it will get you confidently wearing swimwear or tank tops, evening wear and slinky dresses. The procedure will lift sagging breasts, remove fat deposits in the hips, flanks, thighs and upper arms and of course return that long gone flat tummy.

Customized just for you

The beauty of this procedure is that it is customized to the needs of each patient. Some patients may need a breast lift with augmentation to restore a youthful silhouette while others will only need a lift. Still others may need breast reduction with a lift. Liposuction is highly customized to the needs of the patient. In a Mommy Makeover, liposuction is limited to the tummy and waistline, since other procedures are being done concurrently. This is for patient safety. If more liposuction is needed, it can be scheduled either before or after the procedure. The tummy tuck portion of the trio is usually a combination of removing excess skin and fatty tissue as well as tightening up sagging abdominal muscles. Pregnancy almost always results in muscle weakness which can only be permanently tightened through surgery. There are some patients who have good muscle tone in the abdomen and only require the excess skin to be removed.

Minimal scarring

Mommy Makeover patients are understandably concerned about the resulting scars. Dr. Birely always reviews where he plans to place the incisions and explains the way the scars will be masked. His closing technique is meticulous and multilayered to ensure even tension on incisions as they are healing. This ensures a thin, almost invisible scar. In the case of breast surgery, the incisions may be placed around the areola or under the breast crease. Tummy tuck incisions are made very low so the resulting scar is well hidden in underwear or swimsuit bottoms. Liposuction incisions are very small as only a thin cannula is used in the procedure. On the positive side, a tummy tuck usually results in most, if not all abdominal stretch marks being removed with the excess skin.

Fear the mirror no more

If you are tired of wearing mom jeans and avoiding swimwear and other slim fitting clothes, book a consultation with Dr. Birely to see how he can help you get your body back. He will be happy to provide you with his recommendations on how to achieve that firm, sexy body that has been lost through the rigors of motherhood. You’ve earned it!
