Fluctuations in weight, especially a significant weight loss, can create problem areas.
Following your surgery, dressings or bandages will be applied to your incisions, and your arms may be wrapped in a compression garment to minimize swelling. Dr. Birely will give you specific instructions on how to care for yourself. You may experience some swelling and bruising that will obscure the look of your results.
Most patients are able to return to work three days after surgery. If your work necessitates difficult arm activity, you may be advised to wait a longer period of time. To ensure your healing, it is recommended that you do not lift heavy amounts of weight for approximately three weeks after surgery.
Your results will be more and more noticeable as the healing process persists.
The entirety of your healing, including scar lightening and appearance, may take up to a few months.
